In the Term1 2010 school holidays, we are pleased to announce a range of events including drawing, writing and craft- based workshops.
We are very excited about the visit of our
Artist in Residence, Gus Gordon!
...And a baby animal farm is coming to Beecroft too!

Using Alison Lester’s My Farm as inspiration, children in this workshop will celebrate the world of the farm and farm animals. Be prepared for stories, crafts and activities inspired by Alison Lester’s book! All kids coming to the “On the Farm” workshop will also get to meet some animals who will be visiting the store. Those coming to the morning workshop will get a chance to meet baby animals between 11-12pm, immediately after the workshop. Those coming to the afternoon workshop are invited to come early between 12-1pm to meet some baby animals, that is BEFORE the afternoon workshop. |
Creating Characters In Picture Books
In this hands-on workshop, students will be sharing drawing tips and ideas with well known Australian illustrator and author Gus Gordon. Gus will share his knowledge and expertise and children will develop techniques to bring characters in picture books to life! When? Friday April 9th, 9-12-30pm For Grades 3-6 Cost? $50 per student. | Gus is a prolific author and illustrator whose books include Wendy and A Day with Noodles and he has illustrated numerous books including The Undys, Aussie Bites and many more books. His current book Wendy has already received rewards for picture book excellence! |
Beast Quests and More

In this workshop inspired by the Beast Quest series , we will be creating beasts, writing extracts of Beast Quest adventures, participating in a Beast Tournament and lots more !
